I just bought a new apartment and a new seating area, which is a dark chocolate brown, and does not know what put on the wall above the sofa. I would like to incorporate some pink here and there.

The painting on the wall of a light brown.
Then select some of your favorite colors and buy small cans of paint in the colors.
On the wall, boxes of paint (or other) in selected colors. Paint squares of various sizes in random places. Doing well as artistically, it looks good.
Wait until the paint dries, and voila! I have it on my wall and it was unbelievable.
pink orange / red / blues / .. / Pink / green, most of all the colors go w / dark brown narrowly. Watch that u can u'rself and modern. Frames pix. Even empty frame w / interior of them. Shelves w / pix framed.
What is the rest of the room on the couch? Like, what have other things to do u complete the sofa. That sounds like a really great color.
Now, metal wall decor is very "in" and you will find anywhere. You can get a big piece and the center of your sofa or two small Peices diaganol each other (slightly higher than the other, but side by side)
Kirklands in most shopping malls and online. They have a good choice, very cheap. You can also use a color in the decoration and get the cushion of the same color to remove them all together and taste. I also like the idea aside with glasses and / or small plants. Hobby Lobby has a wide range of platforms and colonial style furnishings is cheap. Pier One Imports has impressive catalogs. You can order online and receive free, new ideas from them. Personally, I like dark red and cream with dark brown, pink, but can work, especially for the spring.
I would say something simple. Perhaps a white background with dark brown randomized design in it. and a vase on the table beside the sofa, with 2 or 3 orchids, roses:)
